🇦🇺 Car Rental I Mini Cooper in Byron Bay I 2 Months Rental

Gas:

• Mini uses FUEL – 91 will have her drive gently, higher (94 98..) are great too!
• Tip: Ampols seems to have the lowest fuel prices, especially in the Gold Coast area. (we’re not sponsored by them just an observation :-))
• You’ll receive a full tank of fuel, ready to flow on the road and conquer new horizons!
• Please refuel the car to full before returning it, so the next adventurer can have a full tank of fun too.
• A full tank will get you about 400 km in range and cost about 70 AUD at 2 aud/liter prices.

Pick-up and drop-off:

• Pick-up and drop-off will be at Newrybar Swamp Road with corner Martins lane in Broken Head. We will drive on a small tour to show the ins and outs of driving with Mini!
• We’ll meet at Newrybar swamp road- Martins lane

• If you don’t have a car, we can arrange a drop-off too at extra cost of 1 AUD /km from our location with a maximum of 200 km.

State of the Car:

• The mini is 10-years old and has a couple of challenges you need to be aware of pre-booking
• 1. Fuel sensor is not functioning. To fuel gas it is important to reset the counter and check manually if you are up to 400 km to refuel + reset counter
• 2. Electronic key is not working. Key needs to be manually split in 2 parts for opened the door + trunk only opens from inside.
• 3. Small bump on back of car, sensors do not pick up on lower bumpers of 4×4

Before embarking on your adventure, give the car a quick once-over. Let us know with pictures within the first 2 hours if you spot any issues or concerns.

Battery Life and Convertible:

• The Mini is a convertible car and we LOVE driving open roof
• As it is a Mini car the battery is not super big. We have replaced it a couple of times but there is a challenge with it. Here’s how to fully enjoy the ride:
• Keep the motor on if you park and the lights are on. Keeping the lights on without motor could drain the battery.
• Open the convertible ROOF after you have driven about 10min with the car so the battery is all heated up. Try to remember to open and close the roof with the engine turned on, to prevent a drained battery. It’s an epic car but still a mini and opening the roof takes a lot of effort.

Keys

• You’ll receive 1 key for the car. We’ll provide it with a full battery. Should the key get lost there is an official key replacement cost by mini of 2.000 + aud. We recommend on the beach to keep it nicely together in closet off pockets.

Driving in Cities and Toll :

• Keep an eye out for the attractions and enjoy the ride in our Mini Cooper
• Mini has an automated Toll registration – you will receive the invoice via email and do not have to proactively follow-up on any tolls.

CO2 Emissions:

• With an average CO2 emission of only 135 g/km, you’ll be cruising in style while being environmentally friendly as the Australian average is for passenger cars and light SUVs is 146.5 g/km. The average emissions intensity of heavy SUVs and light commercial vehicles is 212.5 g/km.

Bring It Back in the Same State:

• Treat the car like your new best friend and bring it back in the same sparkling condition you received it. We appreciate the love!

Keep It Clean:

• We kindly ask you to keep the car spick and span during your journey. No need to vacuum the universe, but a tidy car makes everyone smile.
• In Byron we like the self car wash and inside vacuuming in the Woolworths parking or the one next to the Gas station in the Industrial estate.

No Smoking:

• Let’s keep the air fresh and clean for all. Please refrain from smoking in the car. Your lungs and fellow travelers will thank you!

No dogs

Parking Tickets:

• Embrace the parking guru within you and pay any parking tickets you encounter along the way.
• If, by chance, any tickets slip through the cracks, we’ll reimburse them after your adventure. Just note that an extra admin fee of 30 AUD will apply to thank our team members for their time and efforts.
